Choose Your Delivery System: Topical or Oral?

Determine Your Dosage

With oral CBD, the dosage is a very important factor, and more isn’t always more. Yes, sometimes people get a better therapeutic effect by reducing their dosage. This means experimenting is critical. It’s also likely that splitting your daily dosage into two or three occasions will deliver a different result than taking the same amount all at once.

Refining Your Timing

Many people find that they need to time their oral CBD consumption to get the best impact. For some people, oral CBD may cause some mental fuzziness, fatigue, or stimulation. It’s always smart to start low and go slow, and to be patient as you experiment with different options of timing and dosage to find your sweet spot. Experiment with your dosage timing, noting what time of day, how many milligrams you took, and whether you consumed it on an empty stomach or not.

Like with dosage, timing is much more critical with oral than with topical CBD products.

Make It a Routine

Once you’ve got your product, dosage, and timing worked out, it’s just a matter of incorporating CBD into your daily routine.

Some people like to add their oral CBD products to foods or beverages. Perhaps blending CBD into your first cup of coffee of the day is a good way to start your day with a relaxing boost, and to make sure you don’t forget it. If you already have a vitamin routine, you could take your CBD with your vitamins. If bedtime is a good time for you to take CBD, place it on your nightstand so you remember to consume a dropperful or two before nodding off for the night.

For topical use, you might link your CBD application with other daily routines, such as waking up, going to bed, brushing your teeth, or putting your shoes on.
